We started Clay’s At Home during COVID, five years ago, as a temporary way to survive. What we never expected was how deeply it would become part of people’s lives.
Over time, we’ve built a loyal community who use Clay’s At Home to connect with loved ones near and far by sending our food to them. New traditions were formed. New Year’s Eve meals, special occasions, summer barbecues, staycations, and even camping trips centred around Clay’s food.
So many of you have shared your stories with us, and Clay’s At Home has become something deeply emotional for us too. It’s become so important that we now close the restaurant two days a week just to cook these meals and send them out to you, with care and a lot of love.
How Our Ordering Process Works
Simply choose what you’d like from our selection of starters, curries, biryanis, rice, and breads. Add everything to your cart, select your preferred delivery or collection date at checkout, and place your order. It really is that simple.
To re-heat, they can be warmed gently in a microwave or on the hob. For best results, place the sealed bags in a large pan of hot water and heat through (excluding breads).
Testimonials & Awards
Jay Rayner, Observer
Here in London, I’m close to some cracking restaurants serving the diverse food of the Indian subcontinent. Even so, ordering a delivery from 40 miles away didn’t feel like a stupid idea. Which says an awful lot about both the punchy cooking at Clay’s and the weird times through which we’re living.
Grace Dent, The Guardian
Thoughtfully made and determinedly different, it’s far from what many of us are used to with high-street Indian dining.
Clay’s has one of those menus that I feel I’ll keep going back to. Food doesn’t get much more personal than this.
Tom Parker Bowles, Daily Mail
This is cooking to make the senses sing, and heart flutter with greedy delight.
Good Food Guide
It's a world away from your average high-street curry house. Starters set the bar high. Main courses continue to please.
Strength of recommendation: Very Good.

FAQ's
We are a delivery service rather than hot takeaway food. Our dishes are blast-chilled and vacuum packed so they have a longer shelf life. We send them to you by over-night courier in special wool insulated boxes with ice packs inside which keeps the food chilled for up to 48 hrs and then you can easily reheat them at home using a hob or a microwave. Click here for more details on how to reheat our food.
Our food keeps for up to 10 days from the date of vacuum packing, when kept refrigerated. In practice that means it should keep for around a week once it reaches you.
No, the shelf life becomes void once the vacuum seal has been opened. Any leftovers stored after that are at your discretion.
We deliver every Thursday through DPD, our courier partner. The order need to be placed by end of day Saturday to receive the delivery by Thursday the following week. You can also pre-order for future (upto 8 weeks ahead) Thursday's through our calendar option at checkout.
Yes. If you do, the best way to defrost them is to leave the packs in the refrigerator overnight and then re-heat following the instructions.
If you are not available, the courier company will still leave the package at a safe location and take a picture for our records. You can select a safe location or choose to leave it with a neighbour through DPD's app. If no alternatives are not provided and no one is in to collect the parcel, it would be left on the front porch or any other location the delivery driver thinks is safe. We will not be liable for any stolen packages in such cases.
Our starters are designed to feed one person as a starter or light meal. Two of our curries can feed between 2 to 3 people, depending on appetite.
Except our bread, we are pleased to say rest of our menu is gluten free.
We beleive the spice levels are very subjective & the spice mix we use for each of our dishes is unique, but all our food heat levels can be said to be between medium and hot, except for our tomato dal which is mildly spiced and our Chicken ghee roast which is on the hotter side.
All our chicken dishes are free range. And all our meat comes from the award winning Vicars Game Ltd, Ashampstead.
